The Toronto Raptors are a professional NBA basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They were founded in 1995 and joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the 1995-1996 season. The Raptors are one of the youngest teams in the NBA and the only team located outside the United States.

The Raptors are now part of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. Their home court is located at the Scotiabank Arena, formerly known as the Air Canada Centre, which can accommodate 19,800 people. Although the Raptors have a relatively short history, they have quickly become one of the most competitive teams in the East since joining the NBA.
On June 14, 2019, the Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors 4-2 in the NBA Finals and won the first championship trophy in team history.
