Charlotte Hornets


The Charlotte Hornets is a professional basketball team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Its predecessor was the Charlotte Bobcats. It was founded in 2004 and joined the NBA. It is one of the youngest teams in the league. The team was renamed the Charlotte Hornets in 2014 and took over the old Charlotte Hornets' season records from 1988 to 2002.

The history of the Charlotte Hornets can be traced back to 1988, when it was founded as the New Orleans Hornets and created the best record in the team's history with 54 wins and 28 losses in the 1996-1997 season. However, in 2002, the original Hornets moved to New Orleans and became the New Orleans Hornets. In 2004, the Bobcats joined the NBA and became a new team in Charlotte. In 2014, the Bobcats officially changed their name to the Charlotte Hornets.
The Charlotte Hornets have had many outstanding players in history, such as Dell Curry, who averaged 14.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in his career with the Charlotte Hornets. In addition, the team also has active star players such as Gordon Hayward and LaMelo Ball.
In recent years, the Charlotte Hornets have actively strengthened in the offseason. Although they performed poorly in the 2023-24 season and ended the season with a record of 21 wins and 61 losses, they won the 6th pick in the first round of the 2024 draft.
