Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks is a professional basketball team located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It was founded in 1946 and joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1949. It is now a participating team in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. The history of the team can be traced back to 1946, when it was called the Tri-Cities Black Hawks, which belonged to three cities on the Mississippi River. In 1951, the team moved to Milwaukee and changed its name to the Milwaukee Hawks.

In the 1957-58 season, the Hawks defeated the Boston Celtics under the leadership of Bob Pettit and won the first NBA championship in team history. In the 1980s and 1990s, the team welcomed the star player Dominique Wilkins and the famous coach Lenny Wilkens, and once again became a strong team in the league.
